Today - There will be no service at our church building. Our Sunday worship service will be held on Mt. Everett at Highland Retreat at 10 am. followed by a noon fellowship meal.

NOTES AND HAPPENINGS
Weekly Prayer Focus: Pray for the work of the finance committee, chaired by treasurer, Phil Harder, as they develop a congregational budget for 2008-09. Give thanks for strong giving throughout this budget year and pray that our financial priorities would reflect Kingdom of God values.
Pastor Lee & Peg Martin and family will be camping in PA with family from Friday, Aug. 8 – Monday, Aug. 11. For pastoral care needs during this time, feel free to contact any elder.
Boys’ Club will meet on Aug. 17 at the Benders. Details to be announced later.
Patchwork Pantry, one of the places the MYF did service this year, is in need of food. Client demand is up 50% this summer and they are having to purchase food to meet the demand. Shopping lists were placed in mailboxes last week. Donations should be brought to the church or can be taken to the pantry by August 17.
Please take fabric bags to fill for school kits for MCC (available in the foyer) and return completed bags to the church by August 31. List of contents is on the foyer table.
A note from Jonathan & Beth Bowman: “We would like to thank everyone for their support as we moved to PA. Our congregation has been invited to share a Sunday evening program with the VMRC community on Sept. 14 at 7 pm. Plan now to be present for this time of worship and fellowship. Dick Good is coordinating the service and will be inviting a number of us to participate in the service.

MISSIONS MINUTE
Pray that Norma Teles will be refreshed and encouraged as she is visiting churches and friends in the US and Canada. Pray also that God will move people to commit to prayer and financial support for Norma’s ministry to children and youth in Albania.
