NOTES AND HAPPENINGS

Weekly Prayer Focus: We’re on the threshold of a new school year. Pray for the teachers from our congregation who will have many opportunities to bless the lives of their students. Pray also that the students among us would grow in knowledge, wisdom and commitment to God’s purposes.

Pastor Lee & Peg Martin and family will return from camping in PA with family on Monday, Aug. 11. For pastoral care needs during this time, feel free to contact any elder.

If you placed a bid on the pork at church campout, please get your funds to Phil Harder.

Remember to bring food for the MYF food drive for Patchwork Pantry. Client demand is up 50% this summer and they are having to purchase food to meet the demand. Donations can be placed under the foyer table or can be taken to the pantry by Aug. 17.

Church Council will meet on Thurs. Aug. 21 at 7 pm. at the church.

Please take fabric bags to fill for school kits for MCC (available in the foyer) and return completed bags to the church by Aug. 31. List of contents is on the foyer table.

Thanks for helping us celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary! The cards with the kind and wonderful sentiments and your words of congratulations, encouragement and support mean so very much. Each one of you is so special and we are grateful to God and to you for the blessing you have been to us. God bless! --Mary Louise & Wilmer Lehman

Our congregation has been invited to share a Sunday evening program with the VMRC community on Sept. 14 at 7 pm. Plan now to be present for this time of worship and fellowship. Dick Good is coordinating the service and will be inviting a number of us to participate in the service.
